Tomkat gets underway at 7:50am
Tomkat departed from Palm Coast Marina at 7:50am, with balmy 37 degree temps. Started at Mile Marker 803. Last time we took a trip south with the old Tomkat it was 34 degrees. Our hearty New England blood sustains us...which is really BS. ..we were freezing, but bundled up nice & toasty.
We are beating feet to get to warmer temps. Peeps Joan & Linda went to Waterfront Park to wave so long and Jan was with us in spirit, due to food prep commitments.
We had a hearty Irish Oatmeal breakfast,
thanks to a gift from our neighbors, Denette & Jack. We saw a nice sight of the moon when we approached Flagler. We have had dozens of dolphins swimming, jumping & playing along side the boat. Never gets old, love every sighting like it's our first.
Hot Cocoa, Irish Soda bread & Orange from our tree made for tasty mid morning snack.
It was nice to pass by our old anchorage spot about noon. We went thru or under several bridges today. We only had to wait for the Coronado Beach bridge about 20min. After a nice healthy lunch
And Once we got into the Indian River Kat gave Captain Tom a break.
Nice view of the beautiful Bimini Kellee made us. We then headed into Mosquito Lagoon and Haul over Canal. Tom was able to see a manatee poke it's nose out of the water. They were all hiding under the water today. Lots of folks fishing on both sides of the canal. They are working on the bridge so we did not need to wait for an opening.
Titusville will be our anchorage for tonight. We have a nice spot between the 2 NASA bridges. Anchor windlass was easy peasy for the Captain
Time for dinner,,watch some TV & read.
