Signing Day! Part 1 of TOMKAT getting ready to splash.

The day has finally arrived; to sign and take possession of our new boat. It is a balmy 30 degrees in Annapolis ,MD. With some hefty snow banks still visible. The present name is Smart Alec which we will change to TomKat after she gets a new paint job. We headed over to Annapolis Sail Yard Broker Office. We arrived to Richard Kahn singing to us an Arlo Guthrie song "Good Morning America, How are you"! Which was a fun way to sign paperwork. Rich let us borrow his ladder and we went aboard to take possession of keys and unlock our "new" boat. After checking out the inside quickly we headed over to the sailmaker to check our sails that were stored in the sail loft. The workspace was so big and the huge sewing machines were too cool. They have a very friendly dog TiKi who wanted to play. After checking the sails we de cided to load them in the truck and took them to the boat. Tom decided to hoist them up with the spinnaker halyard , esp. Since this matie was not about to climb the ladder with them hoisted over my shoulder! While Tom emptied the Truck, Kathy started cleaning & Unpacking. Part 2 from today tomorrow!
